Happy New Year

Happy New Year - sending you all best wishes for 2010.

Here is my journal page for today's Journal Your Christmas - but have to confess that in the end I went for Baileys rather than wine!

Journal Your Christmas - Day 30

Today's prompt was a review of the year. When I first read it my first thoughts were that I couldn't remember what we did and when this year but when I started to look though the photo folders on my computer I realised that my photographs document my year. Saying that, there is no room on this page for photos - which is probably just as well as my printer has run out of ink!

Catching up - Journal Your Christmas

Well, I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas - we did, which means I have been neglecting my journal!  I have spent the last couple of evenings catching up and I am happily now up to date.

Journal Your Christmas days 21,22 and 23 - and I saw Father Christmas today.

I have surprised myself that I have kept my journal up to date - I think that as I have kept the pages quite simple it has not taken too long. I have also learned that I can journal or scrap without a photo which is something that I had not previously done.

The prompt for day 21 was "right now" - to take a photograph in your house no matter how messy it was - well mine happened to be of the mess resulting from wrapping presents.

23rd december 004

The prompt for day 22 was to make a list of things left to do - and I'm happy to say it's not too much!

23rd december 005

The prompt for day 23 was all about Christmas stockings and my dilemma now is how are we going to put a stocking at the end of our child's bed to wake up to on Christmas morning when she is a 15 yr old who goes to sleep after us! She'll have to pretend to be asleep - I'm sure she has before!

23rd december 006

Only 1 more day to journal until Christmas day! - as we either have guests or are out visiting on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and on Sunday I think that I may have some catching up to do next week!

When my little friend Katie's mum asked me to look after her for an hour or so this afternoon, I thought it might be a good opportunity to see Father Christmas as it is a long tie since my 15 yr old daughter has been to see F.C. She told me afterwards that she thought it was the real Father Christmas but had thought about pulling his beard just to make sure - glad she didn't!

Journal Your Christmas Days 19 and 20

Here's my days 19 & 20 for my journal.

The prompt for day 19 is a letter to Santa. My children are now too old to write to Santa and although my mum has letters that I wrote to Santa as a child I am not prepared to show them here as they are just too embarrassing, so as suggested by Shimelle in the prompt I visited a site to create my own letter to Santa.

You just add a few random details and then create your own letter - but beware you could end up on the naughty list!

The prompt for today, day 20, is something unexpected which of course I thought the snow was quite appropriate.

Journal Your Christmas - Days 14 to 18

Well, I have just about made all my Christmas cards so most of this afternoon and evening I have been trying to catch up with my journal pages. So as I am posting this just after midnight and I need to go to bed here are the pictures without the chat.

Days 11, 12 and 13 Journal Your Christmas

I'm up to date again and have done three pages today- I'm getting faster at this.

Day 11

13th december 001x

I had already journaled about how disappointed I had been with our tree last year but this year it just seemed so much quicker and easier to assemble and we put up all the decorations yesterday evening - our house is looking much more "Christmasy" now!

Day 12

13th december 002x

The prompt for day 12 is Christmas past so here is a photo of me aged about 10 with a school friend at a children's Christmas Party where my mum worked.

Day 13

13th december 003x

Day 13's prompt is Christmas music. This was fun looking up Christmas songs and listening to them all. My choice of songs does give my age away a bit though!

Journal Your Christmas Day 10

Day 10's prompt was all about Christmas wrapping paper and I followed the suggestions for a quick page - wrapping paper instead of backing paper, a gift tag and some journaling - the whole page completed in 20 minutes - that's super speedy for me!

12th december 002

I've had a busy couple of days and haven't yet done yesterday's prompt so I'm hoping to catch up over the weekend. Hope you have a good weekend and are more prepared for Christmas than I am!

Journal Your Christmas days 6 & 7

The prompt for Day 6 was about mixed emotions at Christmas.I journaled about how we bought a lovely new tree last year and about  how difficult it was to put together.

7th december 010

The prompt for Day 7 is about list making so I chose to journal about the Christmas lists that I made as a child and I included my daughters list for this year in the pocket. This time there is no photo which is a first for me!

Day 5 - and still up to date!

Todays prompt for JYC is advent calendars and the countdown to Christmas. Today I photographed our advent calendar and journaled about it. The number stickers were from Poundland years ago and have nearly been thrown out several times but eventually came in useful. The paper, lovely flocked alphas, felt self adhesive swirl boarder and number 5 from a sheet of 12x12 all come from Scrapbook Sisters (of course!)

Journal Your Christmas - Day 4

I'm up to date and have now finished my day 4 journal entry. The prompt today is "perfect" and for me a perfect Christmas is all about family. We are looking forward to a busy family Christmas this year with new family members to celebrate with.

Journal Your Christmas

This year I am taking part in an online class called Journal Your Christmas. The idea is to spend about 15 minutes a day making a daily entry in your journal. I signed up at the last minute and with a busy start to the week it has taken me a few days to get up to date and of course that meant ignoring the ironing to do crafting instead - such a sacrifice!!!

Here is the cover which I made from covered chipboard and chipboard letters covered with acrylic paint and Glamour Dust - well actually everything is covered in glamour dust - that stuff gets everywhere!

Day One

This is my manifesto, my intention to journal everyday and enjoy the magic of Christmas. I had fun using a patchwork of scraps on this page.

4TH dECEMBER 2009 183

Day Two

This is about the weather and the hope of snow at Christmas. I used a photo that I took in the park earlier this year. I managed to use some of my Basic Grey Blitzen on this page.

4TH dECEMBER 2009 184

Day Three

This is about Christmas cards so I have created a little pocket to keep some envelope in and in one of them are some photos of my Christmas cards.

Watch out later today for another post with today's journal entry.
