A Special Birthday Card

www.lilackittycreations.blogspot.com

When your boss is the owner of a scrapbook shop, then you have to make an extra effort on her Birthday card don't you? I found the inspiration for this card on this lovely blog and was inspired to make a circle easel card with a Magnolia girl and lots of flowers.

and here is my card;

26th march 2010 007

The stamp is a tiny stamp from Clarity Stamps, coloured with Copics, the background paper is Basic Grey Periphery and the chipboard oval is Maya Road.

I had a little trouble with the photography when my cat decided to take a closer look;

One More Layout.....

www.lilackittycreations.blogspot.com

21st march 2010 002

Here is another layout from my fortnightly classes at Scrapbook Sisters. The papers that we used are by Magenta and I have plenty left to make at least one more layout. The photograph  was taken about 16 years ago just after my daughter was born. The black and white photo seems to fit quite nicely with the papers and the title was cut on the Cricut - what would I do without it?

Catching Up

I have spent today catching up on some of my unfinished projects which seem to have mounted up! I feel quite pleased with myself that I have now finished off eight layouts that I had started in classes at Scrapbook Sisters and nearly finished an In Miniature project.

I can only show a few of my finished layouts as a couple of the classes have yet to be repeated and I don't want to spoil it for the ladies who have yet to do the classes.

The papers used here are from the Flutter range by Making Memories.

LONDON

Back in the summer, last year, on a very hot and sunny August Sunday we all went as a family on a day trip up to London. We were celebrating my brother-in-laws birthday. We took the train to Charring Cross  and took a short stroll to Trafalgar Square. I hadn't really realised how close together so many of the London landmarks are and a short walk took us through Trafalgar Square, through Horse Guards Parade, across the Mall with a quick wave to Buckingham Palace, past the Duke of York, past Eros and into the Rainforest Cafe.

It has taken me a while to scrap the photos but I have made them into a mini book at last. I just covered beer mats with patterned paper and used book rings to bind it. I had so many photos to use that I had to keep embellishments to a minimum to stop the book getting too fat! I hope you like it!

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 31 - Judy's Sketch

This weeks challenge is a sketch with an emphasis on stars!

Judystarscopy_thumb2

So here's my card;

14th march 2010 002

I had already coloured this little Gorjuss Girl,who has little red stars on her boots. To follow the theme I inserted 4 different sized stars into a word document, attached the red paper to a piece of copy paper with Herma and printed straight on to the red paper. The greeting is from my well used Papermania clear stamp set and the papers are from a 8x8 pack called Red Rockets Glare by gcd Studios which I think are meant to be Christmasy papers but they seem to fit quite well.

Here is my card;

Sorry about the slightly fuzzy photograph - it looked ok on the camera screen!!!

The stamp of course is a Gorjuss Girl coloured with copics and the papers that I used are Basic Grey and Doodlebug, both from my off cuts drawer. I love these little paper flowers which are from the 99p Shop!

Copic Colour Challenge 55

This week at the Copic Colour Challenge the colour choice is more sober than my normal choice of colours.

Colour Chart 55

I decided to go for something different and I have made a boys card this week.

12th march 2010 018

The stamped image is a Hanglar stamp, the patterned papers are Basic Grey, the buttons are from my stash and the Happy Birthday stamp was bought at the stamp show recently but I don't know who made it!

I'm loving this challenge!

In Miniature Project Finished

www.lilackittycreations.blogspot.com

Karen always comes up with some great "little" projects for our monthly In Miniature Classes at Scrapbook Sisters and Februarys class was another winner. It has taken me quite a long time to complete it properly but I am pleased with the results!

We made the box to start with and then made the little wallets with the tags inside. the lovely papers are My Minds Eye. I'm looking forward to the next class now! (although I must admit that I have some past projects that I have not yet finished!

Hope you like it!

Shabby Chic at The Sugar Bowl

www.lilackittycreations.blogspot.com

Julie at Rainbow Days told me about The Sugar Bowl challenge blog which is using Sugar Nellie stamps which we both love! The challenge this week has a sketch and the additional instruction is to make the card shabby chic style.

I think I got a bit carried away with the shabby chic theme and my card is pretty distressed!

The papers are Papermania and the stamp is Planting Some Love. I hope that you like the card and I would love to see your comments.

Copic Colour Challenge 54

I am really enjoying this challenge as the only requirements are to use the colours given or as close as possible. The colours this week are:

Colour Chart 54

Here is my card;

5th march 2010 017

I wanted to use this stamp from Rubber Romance bought on last weeks trip to the Stevenage Stamp Show. I decided to keep it quite simple and after colouring the image with Copics , of course, I used patterned paper from DCWV which has been in my stash for a long time.I added a circle of vellum which I outlined with a silver pen and then cut leaves from the Cricut and punched some flowers from pink vellum which I shaped and added, with a few dots of liquid pearls in the centre of the flowers and on the corners. I really like the vellum flowers and leaves. I have a 50th Birthday card to make so they may well be on there too!

Creative Scrappers - Sketch 93

I haven't participated in any scrapbooking challenges recently as I have been far too obsessed with using my Copics and making cards - so I decided to revisit Creative Scrappers and come up with a layout - of course that doesn't mean that my Copics have been forgotten - I can do both, can't I??????

Here's the sketch;

Creative_Scrappers_93

My choice of photos today was unfortunately not based on any artistic decision but more the fact that I already had these wallet sized photos printed out but as it happens I'm happy with the results!

5th march 2010 019

The layout shows me and my hubby on a land train at Mudeford last year. I was trying to hold up my heavy DSLR to take a self portrait of us but every time I clicked we seemed to hit a pothole in the very bumpy path hence the disastrous results followed by a fit of the giggles - more self portrait practice needed!

I used a piece of My Minds Eye Breaking Free - Sweet Cheery Dots paper that was left over from a layout at my Scrapbook Sisters class, my Dymo label maker and the camera and snap shot stamps are from a set by Paper Artsy called Cheese.
