Creative Scrappers - Sketch 78

Here's this weeks sketch;

And here is my layout;

And some of the detail.

19th november 2009 013

The papers are K & Co and so is the journaling spot and the butterfly. The crystals are Prima. I have used Doodlebug rub ons on the photo which is one of my favourite techniques at the moment and the Doodlebug rub ons work beautifully when so many others just don't!

I'm loving the Creative Scrappers challenges. If you like my layout I would love to hear your comments.

Creative Scrappers - Challenge 77

When I was blog hopping last week I came across the Creative Scrappers challenge blog so I decided to have a go but it took me so long to get myself organised that I missed the deadline! Well this week I've got my act together and I have done both this weeks challenge and the previous one too.

Here is this weeks sketch - Challenge 77

For this one I used Bazzill embossed dot cardstock for the background, Tim Holtz masks, white acrylic paint, Basic Grey Blitzen papers and some great glitter chipboard alphas that I received as a RAK last Christmas.

A little sassy......

I do  like Sassafras Lass papers and I have collected a few but several times I have got the out of the drawer but put them back again because they are so bright and busy I didn't know where to start. This time when I scanned some old prints I knew exactly which papers would suit and I am quite pleased with the results. The photos were taken 17 years ago on the pier at Bournmouth.

Another two layouts

After a lack of creativity in the summer I seem to have got back in my stride, Here are another couple of winter/Christmas layouts.

The first one is of Holly about 13 years ago at the toddler group Christmas party. Unlike a lot of the other children she was happy to go and see Father Christmas without mummy holding her hand but when she got there she was slightly phased and wouldn't talk to Father Christmas, hence the very serious expression. The papers I used are from the Bo Bunny Believe range and the flowers are Prima.

In the second layout Holly is slightly older and the photograph is taken in the garden at home. This was the first time that Holly had seen any reasonable amount of snowfall and she wanted to go out straight away as soon as she woke up in case the snow disappeared, hence she is wearing a nightdress with a furry coat on top and wellington boots. She even made a small snowman that we kept in the freezer for months.

11th 0ctober 2009 019

I used a variety of papers for this one, the snowman paper is by Carolees Creations and there is some Basic Grey papers in there too. I think the snowman might be a strip of paper from Adornit.

Two challenges in one post.

I've had a couple of free days this week to make some cards.

Basic Grey Challenge

Firstly here is a card for the Basic Grey challenge which I haven't participated in for quite a while. At first I thought the sketch was rather busy but once I started to put the card together myself I found that I could put my own style into it. Here is the sketch.....

And here is my card

My addiction again......

Here is a layout that I made a while ago. I used some of my Basic Grey stash which I am gradually working my way through. for a while I only collected and never used it but now I can happily use my BG as I have learned that although you have used it, you still have it and even better you have something lovely made with it.

SEPT 24 028A

I don't have many pictures of my mum's parents but this one was taken in the garden of their first house around 1963, also in the photo is my mum's younger brother. This is the house that I was born and grew up in.

The papers here are Basic Grey Infuse collection (and I still have lots left!)
