Colours of Autumn

Here is my card for this months challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts and the theme is Colours of Autumn.007

This is one of my favourite stamps and I have used it many times  but for this card I have kept the colours quite subdued and coloured the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink, the leaves are punched with a Woodware punch and emboss punch and I have added a few beads around the leaves.

There is only a couple of hours left to enter this weeks challenge at Scrapbook Sisters and don’t forget there is the chance to win some new digital stamps which will be appearing on The Scrapbook Sisters website very soon!

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges;

Bunny Zoe’s Crafts

The Stampman Challenge

Owls everywhere!

I’ve had another request from DD to make a card for a friend who likes owls……..well I got a bit carried away and the time I had finished I had made a little collection of owl things!

006

The card has a felt owl which is removable and has a badge back sewn on to it.

007

And then I made a notebook;

And finally I made a necklace;

I hope she likes them!

**Edited to add - The lovely Sue has pointed out to me that my owl creations fit very nicely in to this weeks challenge at Little Red Wagon.

An old favourite

When I need to make a Birthday card and I don’t know what to do I often come back to letter cards taught by Gayle Bond at Scrapbook Sisters a couple of years ago.

My daughter asked me to make a card for her boyfriends sister who I haven’t met and I always find it harder to make cards for people that I don’t know so I decided to keep it simple!

005

The papers are from a 6x6 paper pack by The English Paper Company which I believe are no longer in business and the little girl I think is by Pink Gem and was stamped for me by the lovely Julie.

Creative Scrappers – Sketch #124

It’s been a while since I participated in the Creative Scrappers challenges so I thought I would have a break from the cardmaking and get back to the Scrapbooking. Here is this weeks sketch;

And here is my layout;

001

I used Basic Grey Sultry from my vast BG collection (see I can use it!), Prima and Bazzill flowers, some of which I stamped in pink with a script stamp and a piece of pink vellum because I didn’t want to cover up too much of the background paper.

I wanted it to be pink to reflect the beautiful Bougainvillea flowers behind us but I’m not sure now if it looks a little too pink – hmmm just thinking now that perhaps it needs something else???

Full Moon

The theme of this weeks challenge at the Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge is Full Moon. I couldn’t decide what to do for this challenge so I thought the best thing to do was to get out the stamps and inks and start playing.

I started with a piece of smooth white cardstock and then using a round post-it note as a mask I started inking the sky with Broken China Distress Ink. I used a piece of torn paper as a mask for the horizon and then removed it and inked with Bundled Sage Distress Ink. I used Cut and Dry foam to apply the ink with.  I stamped the deer and trees with Black Stazon using Woodware Winter Wonderland stamps which were in the shop last Christmas. The patterned paper is from a GSD paper pad called Red Rocket Flare which I also bought in the shop last Christmas but I have used it several times though out the year for Birthday cards as the backgrounds work well for all occasions.

Don’t forget to have a look at the Scrapbook  Sisters card challenge as there is a change to win some beautiful digital stamps.

The last pages and a prize

I can’t believe that September has passed so quickly this year! – I don’t know whether doing Learn Something New Every Day has focused on the days passing quickly or the fact that we have had such a busy month with a new school, changes at home and a few extra days at work.

It has made me look at each day and focus on the positive events of each day (I don’t like to reflect on the negative sided of life!) and celebrate the small stuff!

I also found out this week that I have won a prize at Penny Black at Allsorts Challenge Blog with this card and my prize is a Penny Black stamp!
