Journal Your Christmas

This year I am taking part in an online class called Journal Your Christmas. The idea is to spend about 15 minutes a day making a daily entry in your journal. I signed up at the last minute and with a busy start to the week it has taken me a few days to get up to date and of course that meant ignoring the ironing to do crafting instead - such a sacrifice!!!

Here is the cover which I made from covered chipboard and chipboard letters covered with acrylic paint and Glamour Dust - well actually everything is covered in glamour dust - that stuff gets everywhere!

Day One

This is my manifesto, my intention to journal everyday and enjoy the magic of Christmas. I had fun using a patchwork of scraps on this page.

Day Two

This is about the weather and the hope of snow at Christmas. I used a photo that I took in the park earlier this year. I managed to use some of my Basic Grey Blitzen on this page.

Day Three

This is about Christmas cards so I have created a little pocket to keep some envelope in and in one of them are some photos of my Christmas cards.

Creative Scrappers Sketch 79

Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge at Creative Sketchers

I decided to follow the sketch quite strictly this week and used a photo that I have been intending to use for ages. I'm still trying to achieve a better self portrait by holding the camera at arms length and in this photo I still haven't quite got there but it captures Martin and I at the end of a very enjoyable evening out.

I used My Minds Eye papers, eyelets and ribbon lacing and alphas and bird cut on the Cricut.

November 16th Challenge at Scrapbook 101

Here is my layout for the November 16th challenge at Scrapbook 101. No sketch for this one but instead a list of things to incorporate;

*eyelets

*a number in the title

*journaling in a list.

Well I managed to incorporate all three;

I used paper that I bought from Costco about a year ago - you know one of those sets you just have to have but then don't use! The stamping on the left is my favourite Tim Holtz stamp and the buttons, eyelets and alphas are all from my stash.

Once I started using the eyelets I couldn't stop - watch out for them again - I may be hooked!

First is a birthday card for my mum, whose birthday it is today!

I had great fun making this card and if it wasn't for my mum I could have been tempted to keep it!

Creative Scrappers - Sketch 78

Here's this weeks sketch;

The papers are K & Co and so is the journaling spot and the butterfly. The crystals are Prima. I have used Doodlebug rub ons on the photo which is one of my favourite techniques at the moment and the Doodlebug rub ons work beautifully when so many others just don't!

Creative Scrappers - Challenge 77

When I was blog hopping last week I came across the Creative Scrappers challenge blog so I decided to have a go but it took me so long to get myself organised that I missed the deadline! Well this week I've got my act together and I have done both this weeks challenge and the previous one too.

I used Dream Street Papers Cinnamon n Sugar, lots of flowers and some chipboard from my stash.

This is what I made for the previous - if a little late!

For this one I used Bazzill embossed dot cardstock for the background, Tim Holtz masks, white acrylic paint, Basic Grey Blitzen papers and some great glitter chipboard alphas that I received as a RAK last Christmas.
