My addiction again......

Here is a layout that I made a while ago. I used some of my Basic Grey stash which I am gradually working my way through. for a while I only collected and never used it but now I can happily use my BG as I have learned that although you have used it, you still have it and even better you have something lovely made with it.

I don't have many pictures of my mum's parents but this one was taken in the garden of their first house around 1963, also in the photo is my mum's younger brother. This is the house that I was born and grew up in.

The papers here are Basic Grey Infuse collection (and I still have lots left!)

Mojo Monday week 107

I haven't participated in any challenges over the summer but decided that it was about time to get back to it and it's a good way to get some Christmas cards made.

I set myself a challenge to use some papers that I bought in a rash moment last year and don't really like any more.

Here is the sketch for this week

And here is my card.

Tweet Sixteen

My daughter, Holly, asked me to make a birthday card for her friend who will be sixteen but left the design for me to decide on. I liked the play on words sweet sixteen/tweet sixteen and decided that the way to go was birds and trees.

xxxxx

The papers are October Afternoon, We R Memory Keepers and Basic Grey and the trees are punched with Woodware punches and have hand cut trunks. The little chipboard birds are Maya Road, painted with acrylic paint and the alphabet stickers are from my stash (Papermania I think!)

Holly, likes the card, I hope her friend does too!

A bit of colouring in.....

A couple of years ago on a trip to Alexandra Palace I bought a sheet of Prima Paintables but it then got stored safely away in my stash of papers and forgotten about. When I rediscovered it again recently I decided to add these photos of my son and my nephew at Beaconscott Model village when they were both about 2 years old. Now 16 years later they are both 18 years old and really out on the town!

I coloured the page with watercolour pencils and used Doodlebug alphabet stickers - how easy is that!

A piece of tinsel or two...

When I was scanning some old prints recently, I found some photos of the children when they were quite small and they were playing with some tinsel although there doesn't seem to be any other Christmas decorations around!

I used the My Minds Eye Wonderful Winter Glitter stack, Crafters Workshop templates for the wording, silver star brads and a piece of gold braid that was free with a magazine. The top right corner looked a bit empty so I cut and punched circles from the paper to make a little garland.

Christmas 1975 style...

I have decided to do some Christmas scrapping before Christmas because once Boxing day is over I'm ready to pack "Christmas" away, decorations, tree and scrapbook papers.

These photos were taken at the children's Christmas party where my mum worked. My sister and I were both pleased  that when we got there there we found some school friends were at the party too.

It is only looking at the photos now that I have realised that both of our friends were wearing the same dress - was it the favourite dress at M&S that year???

SEPT 28 2009 004

The background papers was from Carolee's Creations and the other papers are Basic Grey, the white scrolls are self adhesive felt and I added gems.

Hello again....it's been a while........

.....since I last blogged. Where did the summer go? And now it seems be be almost time to start thinking about Christmas.

At Scrapbook Sisters we get asked from time to time to make cards for Creative Cardmaking and I have been lucky enough to have cards published in both issue 8 and the Christmas Special this month.

This was in the Christmas specialSEPT 24 033

In edition 8 I made the front cover and had four cards inside.

These two cards are mine

......and the cards on the page on the left are mine too - all of the others were made by Julie and Karen.SEPT 24 038a

I was especially pleased to have a layout in the Readers Gallery of Scrapbook Inspirations this month.

SEPT 24 042

I aim to get back to blogging on a regular basis and tomorrow will be a Christmas layout....yes, I know it's a bit early but by the time Christmas is over I've had enough of it and don't want to scrap it......so get ready for several Christmas layouts coming up!

Well, it's good to be back!
