Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge

The theme this week is anything goes so what better opportunity to make an early Christmas card. I bought some lovely little stamps when I was at the Limited Edition Class  at on Saturday and have used the heart greeting and the patchwork robin to make my card and at £1.10 each I couldn't go wrong.

The challenge I included are;

1 – Circles

2 – A Touch of Red

I only needed 3 challenges but it ended up with 4.

The circles were cut with Nestabilities and the stamp was the free cover gift on Craft Stamper which is my favourite magazine at the moment – so many great ideas.

Here is my version of Shimelle’s layout.

Here is Shimelle’s original

scrapbooking tutorial

I have had 3 of these bingo cards for a while now – I bought them online and was surprised how big they were as I thought that I had bought the smaller ones so I welcomed some inspiration on how to use them.

I am entering this for Shimelle’s Butterflies and Bingo Cards Challenge

Challenge 2

This week at Less is More the challenge is to make a one layer card using ink.

After much deliberation and three aborted attempts at cards I came up with this one and yes, it is my first Christmas Card of the year and it’s only August!

I used a Crafters Workshop template to ink through using Cloudy Blue Adirondack ink and some Cut and Dry. I then stamped the bare tree using a Black Tuxedo Memento ink pad. The stamp is a Penny Black stamp (love Penny Black stamps!) and is actually called Nature’s Dance. The Seasons Greetings stamp is part of a Woodware clear stamp set called A Winter’s Day.

All of the items used for this card were bought at Scrapbook Sisters.

I’m off craft shopping today – yippee!!! - the only thing that I really need is some more A4 white card as I have used my last sheet making this card – so you see I really do need to go shopping Of course I may have to buy one or two other things too! I’ll let you know when I get back.

Challenge 1

This weekend Shimelle is holding an online scrapbook challenge weekend and the first challenge was to use some free printables provided with the challenge.

Here is my layout – I have used the rest of the S.E.I paper that I used for the last weekly sketch (that’s not bad – 2 layouts from 2 sheets of paper) and I used the printed circles to make a scalloped design in the corner – I saw something similar on a layout from Studio Calico. I also used some of the smaller circles on the scalloped edge border and the journaling printable which I printed out a half size. I have also used white pen to create some faux stitching. I love the way white pen looks against kraft cardstock.

Creative Scrappers

Here is my layout for the Creative Scrappers Challenge.

003

From this sketch

I used S.E.I. papers, butterfly punches and a Marrianne butterfly die.  I used a Glimmer Mist and acrylic paint mix (see Shimelle’s sketch of the week video tutorial) to spatter across the page.

Less Is More

The challenge at Less is More this week is to make a  card with the “colours of your nation). I decided to go with red, white and blue for Great Britain rather than just red and whiten for England.

001

The stamp is from Papermania and I thought that I had lost it but I had convinced myself it was a clear stamp so hadn’t even looked at the wooden stamps!

Seeing Stars

The theme this week at Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge is “Stars” which is very fortunate as a new star die has just arrived in the post for me, so I made good use of it when I made this card

011_crop

I stamped this gorgeous little fairy and coloured her in with Copics. After some die cutting with my trusty Cuttlebug I got out the Glamour Dust and sprinkled liberally over the stars and her wings. The greeting is from a Papermania stamp set.

Sketch of the Week

It has been so long since I blogged or crafted to that matter. A new job and a holiday haven’t helped my crafty output but hopefully I now have a new routine and can start crafting again.

Here is my layout for Shimelle’s Sketch of the Week.

dads birthday 019

I’m sorry about the rubbish photo, I’m having issues with my compact camera at the moment!

The papers are Basic Grey, the embellishments are K& Co with various other bits from my stash. I experimented with Glimmer Mist and paint as shown by Shimelle in her tutorial and think I will give it another go soon as this one is a bit wobbly!

Hopefully I will be back soon!
