The theme this month for Scrapbook Sisters scrapbook challenge is of course Christmas. Here is my layout;

046_crop

The papers are from Bo Bunny and I have added white flock and gems to the background paper. I have also used seam binding which is now in the shop but selling fast along with, Tim Holtz, Marrianne and Nestabilities die cuts. The trees are actually clear peel offs stuck onto silver and then covered in olive glitter.The photograph shows my cat Thomas last Christmas – he was fascinated by the lights on the candle arch. Here are some more photos.

Starting Point

Here is my layout using Shimelle’s Starting Point as inspiration.

The papers are from Sassafras Lass and the photograph in me sitting at the window seat of a flat we stayed in on holiday in St Ives, Cornwall. The window looked out over the harbour and beach and I could have spent the whole week just watching the boats coming in and out of the harbour and the seals following them along hoping for a spare fish or two!

Although I usually enter Shimelle’s Sketch of the Week, I think that this is the first time I have entered the Starting Point Challenge.

Something New

Here is my second layout using the papers I had left from my Scrapbook Sisters class. The Creative Scrappers sketch had not been published when I was ready to create  so I had a look around and I was happy to find the pencil Lines blog.

Here is their sketch

And here is my layout

003_crop

The photo that I have used is not a brilliant one but it is a reminder of a lovely day out at Groombridge  Place……oops just noticed I’ve written the date wrong it should be 1997 not 2007! That’s the trouble with getting older the years all seam to merge together!

Garden Days

It has been a while since I have entered any challenges so as I have a nice quiet weekend at home I have entered Shimelle’s sketch of the week. I do like a sketch for inspiration.

I have used papers from the current scrapbook classes at Scrapbook Sisters. I had to leave early at the last class to pick my daughter up on her return from a school trip to Paris (they took some great photos in Paris some looking forward to scrapping some of  them when I get some copies)so i had only made one layout and had plenty of papers left.

Here is my layout

002_crop

From this sketch;

The photos are some I had printed recently of me in the garden at home in 1967, the summer before my sisters was born and you can just about see my very expectant mum in the background.

In fact I have had many photos printed recently by Argos online. They were doing a special deal and 4x6 prints were only 1p each – what a bargain! – so I took full advantage of it and now have about 300 4x6 photos ready to scrap.

As I still have lots of these papers left I may well try the Creative Scrappers challenge this week too!

Leaves

The theme for this weeks card challenge at Scrapbook Sisters is Leaves. When I thought about this card I was thinking autumnal, falling leaves and cooler weather but we seem to have some rather unseasonably warm weather.

001_crop

I used a Kars stamp on to a Sizzix die cut coloured with Copics. The “hello” is a Technique Tuesday stamp and the backing paper is from Cloud 9. I used scraps of paper to punch out the various leaves.

Why not have a go and enter a card to the challenge at Scrapbook Sisters.

Challenge 2

This week at Less is More the challenge is to make a one layer card using ink.

After much deliberation and three aborted attempts at cards I came up with this one and yes, it is my first Christmas Card of the year and it’s only August!

I used a Crafters Workshop template to ink through using Cloudy Blue Adirondack ink and some Cut and Dry. I then stamped the bare tree using a Black Tuxedo Memento ink pad. The stamp is a Penny Black stamp (love Penny Black stamps!) and is actually called Nature’s Dance. The Seasons Greetings stamp is part of a Woodware clear stamp set called A Winter’s Day.

All of the items used for this card were bought at Scrapbook Sisters.

I’m off craft shopping today – yippee!!! - the only thing that I really need is some more A4 white card as I have used my last sheet making this card – so you see I really do need to go shopping Of course I may have to buy one or two other things too! I’ll let you know when I get back.
