The photograph is Holly at The Eden Project. It was such a hot day and she was very glad to find a shady spot to cool down. The Papers are K & Co although i cut them to pieces to make the floer border. I also added some American Crafts and K & Co rub ons. This is another one for the holiday album.

A Double Layout

I have collected together all my seaside papers ready to start my holiday layout,I always intend to scrap all my holiday photos but rarely do but at least this year I’ve made a start.

001

The papers are The Seashore Collection by Creative Imaginations, designed by Samantha Walker. I bought these a couple of years ago at Scrapbook Sisters but I’m pretty sure that there are none left.

I had 2 papers the same but they were a bit busy so I used the design at the bottom and mounted them on to white cardstock. I then added the whales along the bottom from a border paper. I cut the bunting from off cuts and stamped and cut out the title using the Papermania Alphabet Stamps that I have used several times before.  I added photos of Martin and Me  sitting on Smeatons Pier in St Ives. I finished the layouts by outlining the bunting in black and the waves in white.

I just need to print out some more holiday photos so that I don’t loose momentum with my layouts.

The rolled roses are cut from Bazzil and inked with Adirondak ink. I added a ribbon and a button. The corners are a punched circle cut into quarters.

Not Going Green

I have been doing an online photography run by the fab Cheryl Johnson (C.J.) called Not Going Green. It is a new course and it’s all about taking control of your camera and taking it off auto and learning to use the settings to get the pictures that you want.

I have really learned   so much and finally I am using my camera as it should be used. I am so pleased that today one of my photos has been chosen as one of the 3 photos of the week, see here!

Here are some of the photos that I have taken during the course;

Creative Scrappers – sketches 111 & 112

I’ve been catching up at Creative Scrappers and today I have made two layouts with my holiday photos.

Here is sketch 111

Creative_Scrappers_111

Here is the first layout

prom night 006

The papers are called Endless Summer by L’il Davis. I’ve used  a shield template for the centre, Papermania  Alpha stickers, hand cut bunting and chipboard butterflies and bird which I covered with paper and then stamped with a script stamp. The photo is not particularly good as it was a self portrait taken on the causeway on the way to St Michaels Mount which you can just see behind me.

Here is sketch 112;

And here is my layout;

prom night 005

I’ve used My Minds Eye papers and punched circles to make trees with hand cut trunks, I’ve used punched circles for my journaling and covered some chipboard letters for the title. The photos were taken in Trengweinton Gardens near Penzance.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #91

I have entered a challenge at The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge  again it is another challenge that I  am participating in for the first time. I saw Sue entry on her blog“I can’t draw but I can do this” and decided that I had to have a go too! The theme is apertures.

Here is my card;

prom night 004

The paper is Basic Grey and the stamp is Sugar Nellie, coloured with Copics, of course! There is a sprinkling of my favourite little paper flowers and ivy leaves and a few punched paper leaves. The tree branch is hand cut and has a dusting of gold glamour dust. The aperture was cut with Nestabilities on my Cuttlebug and is backed with acetate. I hope you like it – I think it’s cute!

Stamp Something Challenge

Here is my first card for the Stamp Something Challenge. The recipe this week is to use one designer paper, one image and one ribbon. So here  is my card;

004

The paper I used is Asian Pear Blossom from Stemma and the image is a Rubber Romance stamp. I used the pink ribbon to make little rosettes with buttons in the middle.

It’s been a while………

It’s been a while since I entered a challenge, I didn’t seem to have  much time before I went on holiday – I know that I was doing a lot of cleaning as I like to come home from holiday to a lovely clean and tidy house. Well, now I’m back and have caught up on a few unfinished project( although there are still plenty more to finish) and i will get them photographed and show them here. But back to the challenges, here is one for The Mojo Monday Challenge – week 146. I decided that I wanted to use some of my older stamps rather than the “cutesy” new stuff  so i stamped this rather elegant lady, sorry I don’t know the make, and coloured her with Copics.The papers are Once Upon a Time by DCWV and I used lovely coloured lace from Scrapbook Sisters and my favourite little paper flowers from The 99p Shop. Hope you like it, it’s a bit different from the cards that I have been making recently.

More class layouts - Poppyseed

Over the past three fortnightly classes at Scrapbook Sisters we have had a whole 12x12 paper pad of K & Co Poppyseed papers and a sheet of embellishments, plus cardstock and extra die cuts. I have completed many layouts and a mini book and still have lots of papers left.

Here are the first  weeks layouts completed;

Prima Layout

I have lots of layouts from classes at Scrapbook Sisters that I have not shown here on my blog so over the next few days I will be catching up with some recent layouts.

This one is using Prima blooming Retro Raindrop Sprinkles

LAYOUTS 003

I’ve used other Prima papers in the range to make the embellishments and used Sure Cuts Alot on my Cricut to cut the lettering. The photo was taken at the beginning of April at Wakehurst Place Gardens, it was a cold day and we were wrapped up in big coats and still feeling the cold – hard to believe with the weather at the moment!

Good Luck Card

My son is starting a new job tomorrow after a years unemployment so I thought that a card from mum was just what he needed to wish him good luck!

007

Simple but I like it!

The owl was a free stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine, the swirl is one of Tim Holtz Sizzix dies and the rub on alphabet is American Crafts.
